Introduction

Viper is a Personal Information Manager (PIM) suite for PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) developed by TUXIA to address the growing need for a stable, robust, flexible, highly secure and high performance platform. The founder of this project is Peter Hartshorn.

The current maintainer of this project is: Matthew Wlazlo

Viper key components include:

  • Kernel (currently Linux 2.4)
  • glibc-2.1
  • Graphical user interface (using Nano X)
  • A range of Personal Information Manager (PIM) applications*

* All applications are written with using a combination of FLTK (Fast Light Tool Kit) and Nano-X.

Seamless support for Microdrive Compact Flash

  • Auto detects Compact Flash and auto creates Compact Flash directory
  • Auto detects Compact Flash partitions
  • Support for ext2 and FAT file systems

* Automatically un-mounts Compact Flash file systems when not in use. (It is recommended to remove Compact Flash when no longer required as the system checks are executed every 1 sec.)
